Activities begin at 11:00 AM

Greyhound Farm

The Expo has been invited to Fred Fulchino's greyhound farm in Pomfret, Ct. This is an amazing opportunity for adopters to see a working greyhound farm. Fred owned Regall kennel at Lincoln, RI and is the North East rep for National Greyhound Association.

Fred will show you around the farm from brood mama's in waiting, to the whelping pens, the older puppies, and through the time they are ready to be sent to a farm out west to be "finished".  Finishing is when they start the business of developing their style to run the race track.  They learn how to break out of the starting box and run with other greyhounds in an orderly fashion.

We ask that you do not take your greyhounds close to the runs.  It may cause undo excitement among the young 'uns!!  You can hold each others hounds while you take the tour, or take advantage of GPA-MA's grey sitting service.   GPA - MA has volunteered to sit up a grey sitting service at the Farm with multiple x-pens.  The dogs wishing to participate in this have to be muzzled.  If you do not have a muzzle, there will be muzzles to rent or buy.  Of course donations are appreciated for this service.

This will be a leisurely afternoon in the country.

This is the Fulchino's private residence, so we ask that you respect their privacy and not show up until 11 am on the 18th of June, 2011. It is not normally open to the "public".  Please do not visit on any day before or after June 18th. The farm is located at 283 Orchard Hill Road, Pomfret Center, CT.

We will be serving a "cook out" meal of hamburgers, hot dogs, and sides.  There will be veggie burgers and plenty of veggie sides for any one who does not eat meat.  We will also have a small raffle and silent auction.  There will be room for about 160 people.   Don't miss out on this opportunity!

Please register in advance so we have a head count for the food!!!
